Experience the revolution of automotive excellence with the new 2023 Nissan Altima. With its revamped exterior style and advanced cabin technologies, the Altima is here to optimize your driving experience. Now available in the inventory at L'Ami Junior Nissan in Chicoutimi, let us introduce you to its new infotainment and safety technologies, novel design, and technical features.

2023 Nissan Altima: Even More Infotainment Technology

While the entry-level model still features the previous year’s 8-inch color display, the higher-end models include an all-new screen as standard. This one is 12.3 inches, and it’s not only bigger, it’s also better graphics, more intuitive and faster!

Depending on the version, you’ll get a range of advanced features, including

  • Apple and Android wireless connectivity
  • Wireless charging
  • Wireless connection for phones
  • Nissan’s door-to-door navigation system
  • And more!

You can of course interact with the infotainment system through the touch screen, but also through the voice recognition system.

Semi-Autonomous Driving with ProPILOT

In addition to the infotainment system, Nissan also announces that the ProPILOT semi-autonomous driving system will now be delivered from the SR version. What is it? Well, this system uses a camera, radar and sensors, detecting the lines on the road as well as the cars around you. It is thus able to drive the car in an automated way in certain conditions!

The well-known 360° Safety Shield is now standard on all versions. It includes:

  • An emergency braking system
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Automatic rear braking
  • Lane departure detection
  • Blind spot warning
  • And much more!

Among the options, road sign recognition is offered on the SR Premium version.

Enhanced Design

The most noticeable changes to the mid-size sedan are on the outside. The last generation of the Altima already relied on a sportier style than the previous one to stand out. This year, the design is pushed even further in that direction, especially with the front outlook.

The front includes a new, wider grille that is particularly distinctive on SR versions, which are finished in black chrome. LED headlights are standard, as are the daytime running lights with turn signals.

For a more dynamic appearance, the SR and Platinum versions get 19-inch aluminum wheels, also with a new look. It will also be possible to choose an Ethos Grey color, which is added to the 6 other tones available for the car body.

The design is also revised in the cabin, which gets more luxurious trim and materials overall. With the SR version, for example, we get double-stitched fabric and additional finishes on the dashboard.

The interior is still spacious, easily accommodating 5 adults, and continues to offer the Zero Gravity seats and comfort that Nissan cars are known for.

A Generous Engine

At the heart of the 2023 Nissan Altima is still the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, developing 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with the transmission named Xtronic.

All-wheel drive is a feature that consumers are looking for, and it’s one of the reasons why they are increasingly turning to SUVs. Nissan understands this, and that’s why it’s making all-wheel drive standard on the Altima, allowing up to 50% to be distributed to the rear and 50% to the front. In summary, here is its technical sheet:

If you’re looking for a Japanese car, you may be asking yourself: Is Nissan or Honda better? According to journalist Marc-André Gauthier of the Guide de l’auto:

The Altima has never compared so favorably to a Honda Accord, especially with its all-wheel drive, which the Accord does not have.”
