A 2019 Nissan Altima 4x4

Yes, you read that correctly, the new 2019 Nissan Altima is now available with all-wheel drive.

Best of all, this all-wheel drive is standard on the new Altima, making it one of only two midsize sedans to offer the added stability of a four-wheel drive system. This feature on its own would be enough to propel the Nissan Altima to the top of the most interesting models in its niche, and one of the best buys on the market right now. After all, all-wheel drive offers several advantages. Stability goes up a notch when the road is wet or snowy, it's much easier to go up a slippery slope in winter, and you never have to worry about getting stuck in a snow bank.

The addition of all-wheel drive is certainly one of the most impressive new features of the redesigned Altima, but it's far from the only one. Indeed, the new Altima has the ProPilot Assist set of safety systems. The purpose of this technology is to provide greater peace of mind for the driver by preventing lane departures and monitoring the surroundings in order to intervene in the event of danger. The new Altima can take control of the steering to keep you in your lane in addition to automatically adjusting speed according to congestion. ProPilot Assist can even brake if necessary to prevent an accident.

Under the hood, the 2019 Nissan Altima comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, 80% of which has been redesigned or replaced. With 182 horsepower under your right foot, you'll never need more horsepower.

“In developing the new 2.5L engine, we started by reviewing the basics one by one, such as the design of the combustion chamber. In the end, we get a high efficiency and a low fuel consumption significantly better than the previous engine - in addition to an improved NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and greater flexibility in the design of the front ”, said José Muñoz, performance manager at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
