2015 Nissan Sentra Named Best Compact Car in 2015

The 2015 Nissan Sentra is the Best Compact Car according to the 2015 Initial Quality Study (or IQS) by J.D. Power, the industry benchmark for new vehicle quality. The Sentra, which also received an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” award earlier this year, received the award yesterday at the Automotive Press Association (APA) luncheon in Detroit. Now in its 29th year, the Initial Quality Study is based on responses from more than 84,000 buyers and lessors of new 2015 model year vehicles in a survey conducted 90 days after the acquisition of the vehicle. Initial quality is determined by the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score indicating higher quality. The study was carried out between February and May 2015.

The Sentra's sleek, modern and refined exterior design gives it a “professional” look aimed at buyers who want to drive a more upscale vehicle than the models usually offered in this segment. The Sentra adopts the trapezoidal-shaped grille as well as the wide, wraparound headlamps accented by standard LED elements and lights.

The sophisticated allure of the Sentra continues inside the vehicle with premium design and materials not used to find in compact vehicles, including a dashboard operated by touch and armrests on the doors, optional leather seats and trim in maple tones also available. In addition to offering ample interior space in a compact exterior, including generous legroom for the 950 mm (37.4 in) rear passengers, the intuitive interior layout emphasizes driving and driving. unmatched comfort seats in its category for all occupants. The Sentra is equipped with a fuel-efficient 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, which has a longer stroke than conventional engines in its class, improving efficiency and faster combustion.

The engine is mated to a new generation Xtronic gearbox with many improvements that provide better fuel efficiency and reduce vehicle weight. Equipped with the Xtronic transmission, the Sentra delivers fuel consumption of 8.0 L / 100 km city, 6.1 L / 100 km highway and 7.2 L / 100 km combined. Standard safety and protection features on the 2015 Sentra include Nissan's advanced airbag system including dual-stage supplemental front airbags and seat belt and occupant classification sensors; supplemental side airbags integrated in the driver's and front passenger's seats; additional side curtain airbags integrated into the roof to protect the heads of occupants in the front and rear outboard seats; 3-point seat belts at the front and rear; front seat belts with tensioners, load limiters and adjustable top anchors, as well as the LATCH anchor system for child seats.

Other optional features range from a dual-zone automatic climate system and premium Bose® sound system with 8 speakers to Nissan's Smart Key® with push-button start and reverse camera.

The 2015 Nissan Sentra is available in four models: S, SV, SR and SL.
