2020 Sentra VS. 2020 Civic VS. 2020 Corolla

It's bright, bold, and unique looking: the 2020 all-new Nissan Sentra is now in town and rivals the 2020 Honda Civic and 2020 Toyota Corolla more than ever.

L'Ami Junior Nissan in Saguenay near Jonquière and La Baie wishes to introduce you to the new Nissan Sentra by comparing it to the 2020 Civic and Corolla, in order to better highlight some of the dimensions of its unique compact sedan.

The Nissan Sentra: 2020 Edition!

The 2020 Sentra represents a stunning evolution of Nissan's popular compact sedan, and experts agree that it's spectacular. It offers sensational new styling, a full range of smart driving technologies including Nissan's standard 360-degree safety shield, advanced connectivity features, and solid performance from the new platform and engine. As such, if you're looking for something new, Sentra will give you more than the Civic and Corolla.

The 2020 Nissan Sentra is Nissan's best-selling model of all time in Canada, with more than 327,000 deliveries since its introduction in 1982. Its eighth generation, the 2020 Sentra, keeps only the name of its predecessors. It has completely transformed itself from a traditional compact sedan to a model full of presence, inspired by the muscular and sporty design of other models such as the Maxima and the GT-R. Its interior has also been refined and is now more luxurious, redefining the standard for quality and comfort. Here again, it easily stands out from the Civic and Corolla, which do not offer as much presence.

The driving experience has also been completely renewed thanks to the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque (a 20% and 16% increase respectively over the previous generation 1.8-liter engine) and the new platform featuring an independent rear suspension as well as improved electronic double rack-and-pinion power steering. The four-cylinder Corolla develops only 139 horsepower and 126 lb-ft of torque. As for the 2020 Civic, it produces 158 horsepower but only 138 lb-ft of torque.

The compact car segment is still very popular in Quebec, and the 2020 all-new Sentra stands out from the competition thanks to its remarkable new look, its renewed and reassuring driving experience with Nissan's 360-degree safety shield, and its full range of intelligent connectivity technologies. It's a true innovation in the compact sedan category: it's worth reiterating.

All in all, the 2020 new Nissan Sentra has some striking advantages:

  • Sportier and more spectacular exterior thanks to lower and wider proportions, clearly comparable to the Civic, but certainly not to the Corolla;

  • New refined and luxurious interior designed with a focus on quality. Here, the Sentra is ahead of both the 2020 Civic and Corolla;

  • Standard Nissan 360-degree safety shield and standard power steering technologies;

  • Full range of intelligent connectivity technologies, including NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto;

  • New 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 149 more horsepower, improved driving dynamics, and a new independent rear suspension for improved ride, handling and fuel economy.

On this last point, while the 2020 Civic consumes 9.3 and 6.5 L/100 km city and highway driving respectively, the 2020 Corolla consumes 8.2 and 6.5 L/100 km and the Sentra consumes 8.1 and 6.3 L/100 km city and highway driving respectively. The champion goes without a doubt: the Nissan Sentra.

Finally, the Nissan Sentra's price is far better than that of the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. So Nissan not only managed to renew its Sentra, but to make it even more competitive and more economical than its rivals. The Sentra wins the comparison game all the way.
